Karen Smith, Nominated by Carpe Artista
Karen is a professional photographer who donates countless hours capturing the lives, events and memories made in Smyrna, Tennessee. She is constantly asking where she is needed, what she can do and how she can be available. She is a photography Instructor with Carpe Artista, but her students receive much more of her time and energy in preparation and teaching in hours then she is paid in lesson fees. She is also an employee at Lifeway Christian Bookstore in Murfreesboro as well as an co-owner with her husband, Danny, in their photography business “Moments Framed in Time”. Her volunteer time is spent on the grounds at Smyrna Events (such as Depot Days and The Great American Air Show at the Smyrna Airport), Carpe Artista programs and events (such as Jukebox Hero, summer camps, Simply Smyrna Celebration and musical), Lifepoint Church (for musicals, programming and stage management) and Global Accord (disaster relief events and fundraisers). She offers her expert photographer’s eye with a smile on her face and a willing heart. Karen will receive a certificate from Volunteer Rutherford and a $25 Amazon Gift Card courtesy of Guaranty Trust.
