Tiara Terrell, Nominated by Archie’s Promise

tiaraterrellTiara Terrell is a freelance writer and graduate of Middle Tennessee State University. She received her Bachelor’s in English with a concentration in Writing during her course of study. She has received The Peck Award and the Homer-Pittard Scholarship and Award for writing short fiction and for exhibiting outstanding leadership skills in her department.

She worked for The Department of Veteran’s Affairs and while there she learned about the many different aspects of community service and developed a desire to listen to and help those in need. As a freelance writer, she was a contributing editor for The Southern Literary Festival anthology and honed her skills as an intern at the Raconteur Publishing House before finding success with Archie’s Promise as the organization’s Secretary and Policy Director.

She enjoys working for Archie’s Promise for the community outreach aspect of it and divides her time between doing work for the organization and working full-time. In the upcoming year, Tiara will be involved with several projects for Archie’s Promise such as the Sponsor-A-Senior Project and other developing projects. She will be working side-by-side with Executive Officer Claressa Ham to develop applications, budgets, criteria and deadlines for the project. In addition to her work, Tiara is also an avid reader and aspiring novel writer. She is currently working on an anthology that she hopes to complete by next year. Tiara will working towards her 2nd graduate school in Fall 2018 and hopes to utilize her acquired skills to further Archie’s Promise.
