Steve Cates, Nominated by International Folkfest
Steve started the Cripple Creek Square Dancers more than 50 years ago. They entertained both locally and internationally and became involved with the International Folkfest over 35 years ago. Steve
has been the teacher, leader, manager, fundraiser, scheduler and everything associated with the Folkfest and overseas festivals, too. He has devoted his adult life to entertaining others.
Also, he keeps up with the elderly and sick of his church and the community. He visits and eats with them weekly. He encourages others to remember milestone birthdays and important events in their lives and even hosts them for meals at his house. He constantly volunteers.
