Mindful Care event gives a value to your treasures

Is there buried treasure in your attic?

Limited early-bird tickets available online for “Treasure Talk”

(MURFREESBORO)—Bring your “treasures” to “Treasure Talk,” and personal-property appraiser Connie Sue Davenport, columnist in the Tennessee Magazine, will tell you what she knows about your item.

Mindful Care Adult Day Services of Rutherford County will present “Treasure Talk,” Thursday, June 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Habitat ReStore, located at 850 Mercury Blvd., in Murfreesboro. The event is open to the public for those who wish to be part of the audience.

For those who want appraisals on their personal items, 40 “early bird” tickets will be available online through Eventbrite by going to mindful-care.org or Eventbrite.com. Tickets will also be available at the door on a first-come, first-served basis.

Tickets are $10 per item for the first two items and $5 for each additional item (limit of 4 items per person). For online purchases, processing fees will be applied.

Ms. Davenport will not have time to thoroughly research items and provide a full appraisal for use as a conclusive value statement or to settle legal issues. Also, she will not be able to test gems for authenticity or appraise firearms.

The Habitat ReStore is hosting the event, which is a perfect opportunity for people who are downsizing or consolidating family estates. The ReStore provides easy entry and plenty of parking and will remain open during the event.

Mindful Care Adult Day Services, open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., is located in donated space inside New Vision Baptist Church. Participants who have mild Alzheimer’s, age 55 and up, receive compassionate care, companionship and stimulating activities (at affordable daily rates), giving their family caregivers much-needed rest during the day or the ability to continue working. Details are available at mindful-care.org.
