Lions Club selling apples for sight

The Murfreesboro Lions Club is sponsoring  the Sixteenth Annual Apples for Sight fundraiser that is set for Oct. 1 – Nov. 7.   The Club is taking $100 donations for a big box (approximately 28-30 pounds) of new crop of Gala apples.

The proceeds go to support Tennessee Lions Eye Center at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital,  for eye screening of the eyes of children ages one to six years of age to correct eye problems before the  child is too old for eye correction,  for Childhood Pediatric Cancer, for a MTSU scholarship for a blind student, to Middle Tenn Lions Sight Service (MTLSS)  for cataract surgeries and aids for the indigent blind and sight impaired, and for other Lions Sight programs.

These apples are good for Halloween, for employees, for customers and for just plain eating.  Why not give a donation of apples to other charities such as Greenhouse Food Pantry, Journey Home, Salvation Army, Boys and Girls Club, any Police or Fire Station or others?  That way you can help two charities or groups.

You may call 615-896-1007 or 740-405-3621 to order.  The apples will be delivered locally between Oct. 30 and Nov. 7.  Make checks payable to Murfreesboro Lions Club.  Thank you for all your kindnesses to our community.
