HABIT is a nonprofit group of volunteers working together to promote the bond between people and animals. As a program of the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine, HABIT coordinates volunteers and their pets for animal-assisted therapy programs for people of all ages.
Thanks to a grant from the Office of Criminal Justice Programs, they have expanded to Middle Tennessee! HABIT of Middle Tennessee will work to bring animal-assisted therapy to agencies that provide domestic violence services, court systems, child advocacy centers, mental health services and many more!
There will be anĀ information meeting for people who would like to volunteer with their dog, cat or rabbit as well as agencies who would like to have visits from HABIT animals.
Please do NOT bring your animal to this meeting. The meeting is free and does not put you under any obligation to volunteer.
