Greenheart Exchange, a nonprofit exchange student organization, is seeking volunteer families to host teenage exchange participants from all over the world for the 2019-2020 school year. Hosting is a great way to make a friend from another country and get to know more people in your own community.
Below are more details about expectations and requirements:
Nationalities:
· Students (15-18 yrs. old) come from all over the globe and have different religious affiliations and cultural backgrounds. We have students from Germany, Indonesia, Spain, Thailand, Italy, China and so many more countries!
What is expected of me and my family?
· Provide 3 meals a day, love and patience, and a safe and inviting home
· Treatment of student as a member of the family, which may include household rules, responsibilities and privileges
· Receive local and regional support 24/7
Who can host a student?
Greenheart host families represent the diversity of American culture. Our families are of varied economic, religious and racial backgrounds and include working parents, couples without children and single parents, adoptive parents, empty-nesters, and non-traditional families. All host families complete an online application and each family member aged 18+ must clear a background check.
What will the students do?
· Students will attend your local zoned high school.
· Participate in volunteer activities in their community as a part of their exchange program
· Participate in three mandatory meetings throughout the year (Orientation, Mid-Year & Re-Entry/Farewell)
· Share meals, traditions, and daily conversations with you.
· Come with his/her own medical insurance and spending money from their natural parents.

Even if you are unable to host yourself at this time, we would be grateful if you could pass on the information to others you know who do. If you refer a new family to this program, we will pay a $100 referral fee per family.
