Diane Summar, Nominated by Murfreesboro Woman’s Club
Diane was asked to be president of the prestigious Woman’s Club several years ago at a time when the membership was lower and the historical building was needing much delayed maintenance. The 100 year old Club was in need of a strong younger leader and Diane accepted the challenge.
The Club did not know that so much repair and replacement was needed until some drastic problems abruptly occurred. There definitely was not sufficient funds in the treasury, but under Diane’s leadership, committees were formed and ideas developed for fundraisers that have supported mounting expenses at every turn for the repair of the old building. Now membership is growing and all are enjoying the warm, architecturally sound building. The Club is very grateful for Diane’s leadership.
