Operation Generation Integration is requesting donations of bird seed (preferably without corn) for the bird feeders at the Tennessee State Veterans’ Home. Donations can be dropped off at Central Magnet School – 701 East Main Street, Murfreesboro, TN.
Operation Generation Integration is a community service club for high schoolers that encourages interaction with veterans at the Tennessee State Veterans’ Home and other nursing facilities. Benefits to students include gaining an appreciation of the service our veterans provided to our country, learning about history through conversations, developing communication skills necessary to interact with older citizens and seeing how giving of time is valued and can make a difference in someone’s life. Benefits to veterans include increasing brain activity through games and conversations, learning new skills, decrease depression, and becoming more at ease with younger generations.
