Barbara Lubash, Nominated by Avalon Hospice
Barbara has only been volunteering with Avalon for six months but has contributed so much to their patients in that timeframe. She is able to connect with some of their Dementia patients, making them feel safe while going through the scariest moments of their lives. She has also brought comfort and care to not only the patients, but to the caregivers as well. Staff say that Barbara is wonderful team player, stepping in to cover visits when other volunteers are needing assistance. Barbara goes above and beyond what is required of her and staff say they are blessed to have such a giving and caring individual as a part of their team.
