Avalon Hospice seeks client and office help

Avalon is looking for volunteers for direct patient support and in their office.

Their purpose is to provide comfort, compassion, dignity and peace to terminally ill patients and their families by professionally trained hospice teams and specialized community resources. Their volunteers are an integral part of the team.

The volunteer’s role in hospice care includes patient/family and/or administrative support. Volunteers can provide direct patient support in the patient’s home or a nursing facility with the purpose of companionship and/or caregiver relief. Volunteers will also bring flowers as part of our Blossoms from the Heart project, on their visits. Administrative volunteers primarily work in our office filing, assembling admissions packets, assisting with mailings and/or answering phones.

Minimum age for direct care volunteer is 18 years old, and for admin volunteer is 16 years old.
