The Murfreesboro Lioness Club announces their eleventh annual fundraiser, Lioness Apples for Sight, is set for October 1 – November 4, 2016 . For a $100 donation you will receive a box of delicious Gala apples. They will be delivered locally between October 22 and November 4.
The tasty apples make excellent treats for Halloween, for employees, for customers, or just
plain eating. The proceeds are used for the Lions Sight Conservation projects including the eye screening of children from one year to six years to detect diseases of the eye and provide
correction before the child’s eye gets too old for correction. (the approximate cost is $8 per student) The Club also funds an annual MTSU Scholarship for a sight impaired student and donates to Middle Tennessee Lions Sight Service that funds cataract surgeries for the indigent and other surgeries at the Tennessee Lions Eye Center at Vanderbilt Hospital, and donates to Tennessee School for the Blind and also Leader Dog that provides service dogs for the blind and sight-impaired.
You may contact Lionesses Shelley Schklar at 615-512-0500 or 615-893-3129 or Jonelle Prince at 615-896-1007 to place your order. Apples will also be available at Cannonsburgh at Harvest Days on Sat., Oct. 22.
