Mindful Care seeks new home for program

Mindful Care Adult Day Services is looking for a new home. Our 13-year-old nonprofit has operated out of New Vision Baptist Church since its inception. They have been wonderfully generous over the years. However, they are expanding their programs and need to move programs into the Mindful Care space. Therefore, Mindful Care must vacate by June 30, 2021. That will be here before you know it.

We need your help in looking for a potential new home for Mindful Care. It might be a commercial space, but a lease would probably be out of the question. We’re thinking that a church in Rutherford County, one that has unused space during the week, might be the solution. But we will consider any facility and location.

Mindful Care serves people 55 and up who have early to mild dementia, including Alzheimer’s. It provides joy and comfort as well as being a life-preserver for caregivers.

Criteria would include space on the ground floor, separate restrooms, handicap accessibility, and sufficient parking. Ideally we would need 2,000 square feet, but much would depend on the configuration of the space.

If anyone knows of a facility that might work for us, please contact board president Tom Tozer at 615-653-6209 or ttozer@comcast.net.
