Habitat volunteers top 1,000 service hours

We are very excited to be honoring TWO Volunteers of the Week at once. Learn more about these great volunteers from these words from our friends at Habitat.

billHabitat for Humanity is building strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter. We absolutely could not do that without the support of our donors and the commitment of our volunteers.

For the past several years, Rutherford County Area Habitat for Humanity (RCHFH) has been blessed with a growing  group of regular volunteers. During the past calendar year, the devoted group volunteered for a combined 5,186 hours. They are selfless, hardworking, compassionate, smart, funny, and have become a significant part of the Habitat family. Every week this group gives of their time, talent, and treasure. Their volunteerism does not stop at the construction site. They help with special events, donate to the cause, advocate for the mission, and truly are willing to help in any way they possibly can.

mikeTheir tireless spirits have allowed Rutherford County Habitat to serve more families, meet grant deadlines, and make their community a better place.

This year, we had two volunteers reach a very special goal.

Bill B. and Mike B. both volunteered 1,000+ hours.

Bill  – 1,002 volunteer hours

Mike  – 1006.75 volunteer hours

These gentlemen volunteered on a number of home builds and also played a vital role in preparing ReStore 2 for its grand opening in April 2017.

Both Bill and Mike will receive certificates from Volunteer Rutherford and $25 Amazon Gift Cards courtesy of Guaranty Trust Company.
