You Can Make It Home Ownership Center (YCMIHOC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community-based organization founded in 2005. Its mission is to empower residents of Middle Tennessee through education and counseling programs designed to increase financial literacy, self-sufficiency, and access to homeownership. YCMIHOC is an education-based initiative built on the principles of personal and community empowerment. It seeks to enhance the quality of life for all populations by providing education and counseling that supports wealth building and financial well-being, with a particular emphasis on sustainable homeownership for low-moderate income households. YCMIHOC plays a proactive role in community development by helping residents be well-informed mortgage consumers now, so that they may contribute to the future vitality and economic stability of their communities.
YCMIHOC is a HUD-approved housing counseling agency. This agency provides guidance/advice to help families/individuals improve their housing conditions and meet the responsibilities of homeownership. Current programs: Pre-Purchase Counseling; Pre-Purchase Homebuyer Education Workshops; Financial Management/Budget Counseling; and Financial, Budgeting and Credit Repair Workshops.
Opportunities to serve ON SITE:
Ongoing services include: Screening phone calls and registering students for class or appointments; filing documents, making copies, making intake folders and labels, and conference room & classroom preparation.

Donation Needs: Their organization would benefit from collection drives that build classroom/program supply inventory: copy paper; pens, pencils, markers, dry erase markers, manila folders, labels, tape, staples, batteries (AA) or (AAA), calculators, presentation folders, thank you cards, jump drives to store data, portable folding tables. Cleaning supplies/equipment would be very helpful: spray disinfectant, furniture polish, antibacterial wipes and a vacuum.

How to volunteer: A potential volunteer may call the main office at 615-355-0005 and inform Mrs. Harding of the his/her interest in volunteering. An application will be sent to the prospective volunteer. Once completed and returned the application will be reviewed and additional materials or references may be requested depending on the nature of the task the volunteer will perform. The volunteer will meet with Mrs. Harding to discuss volunteer opportunities, available times, etc.
