The Franklin Heights Family Learning and Resource Center


Their mission is to help families with self-esteem, provide opportunities that broaden the scope of everyday living and to educate.

Children’s programs- During the school year they have Homework Help on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays for an hour and a half. Volunteers assist students in small groups or one-on-one with homework. During the summer they provide a variety of fun and educational classes and camps to keep the kids active and learning.

Adult Programs- During the school year adult programs are planned for the parents to address parenting skills as well as enhance their life skills through a variety of hand-on activities.

Opportunities to serve ON SITE:

Homework Help is Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, Please email Andi Cline for the times or additional information about their programs.

Adult classes and programs are offered for healthy living and how to address parenting issues, such as bullying and behavior issues in school and at home. GED classes are offered and assistance for higher education. Cultural opportunities are also offered. Adult educational field trips are planned to places such as Cannonsburg and Oaklands. Speakers from other countries, are invited to speak on their customs and history. Adults are assisted with crisis management through referrals to community partners and resources in the center such as emergency food, infant needs, and hygiene items. Opportunities to serve OFF SITE: NA

Donation Needs:  They have a need for items such as Rover tickets, basic school supplies, cleaning supplies and emergency food.

Event Volunteers:  NA

How to volunteer:  Prospective volunteers are asked to complete a Volunteer Application. A background check will be completed on all volunteers.
